I am a trained horticulturalist and qualified designer. I’m passionate about the beauty of plants and have adored gardening from my earliest years. I trained in garden design at the prestigious KLC design school based at Hampton Court, where I was awarded a diploma in garden design with distinction.
I also studied horticulture at Capel Manor College, where I took the Royal Horticultural Society diploma in Principles and Practices of Horticulture and was awarded a commendation.
I use the latest professional computer-aided design software, such as Vectorworks, to draw up my plans. This enables me to produce 2D and 3D drawings that are clear visualisations of what the final product will look like and show clients and contractors the precise measurements and positions of elements in the garden.
Prior to becoming a professional garden designer, I used my creative talents as an award winning radio producer employed by the BBC making documentaries for Radio 4. I have also worked as a television producer and government economist. I studied economics at King’s College, Cambridge, the University of Massachusetts and the London School of Economics – but my life’s enthusiasm always has been and still remains gardens.
